Ahh. The Developed World
I’ve said it a thousand times in answer to people’s question, “How was your trip?” IT WAS SO GOOD TO BE HOME!! Here are some highlights from my travels…
The Wedding. What a delight to spend time with family and to see my brother so happily matched. Thank you, Lord for my new sister Stacy.
Family. Because of the wedding my brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Annmarie, and their four kids were down from Washington for an extended visit. My sister and brother-in-law, Christy and Jay, and their three kids live close by so there were lots of good times with all the family together. Here’s a picture of me with all of my precious nieces and nephews.
Friends. I am so thankful that I had time to spend with close friends as well as family. I don’t have pictures of everyone but here’s one with two of my dearest Capernwray friends Annie and Traci.
After leaving the States I had the wonderful opportunity to do a bit of traveling in Europe. Not only did I get to see some old friends but it helped to break up the long trip to Africa.
Czech Republic. My friend Bekah is teaching English in Prague and I had such a great time with her. I’ve been hearing for years how great Prague is and this delightful city more than lived up to my expectations! Here’s Beks and I in Old Town Square.
Germany. I have an old friend (also from Capernwray days) in Tuttlingen whom I had not seen in several years. We had an enjoyable, although brief, visit and Susanne and her husband Holger showed me their adorable little town and were also kind enough to drive me 150 kilometers (95 miles) to my next stop since there were no direct train routes. Thanks again guys!! Here are Susanne and Holger with the beautiful Danube valley below them.
Melissa is in Kandern, Germany working with Agape Europe (the Western European branch of Campus Crusade for Christ). It was great to catch up with Mel and see a little of her world. It snowed while I was there!
I then trained up to Frankfurt to catch my plane back to Buja and have since settled back into life in Burundi. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement.
