Kigoma, Tanzania

Well, I have another country stamped in my passport. We just returned a few days ago from Tanzania where we enjoyed a long weekend at a wonderfully tranquil guesthouse on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. I drove down with Dan, Tambry and Austin. And in the truck in front of us were Simon, Lizzie, and Zac Guillebaud and Doug, Deanna, and Maddy Hiebert. Our friend Kristi Bertolet flew down from Buja to join us on Saturday. We spent the relaxing days sitting around singing (Simon, Doug, and Austin all play guitar) or talking or playing games in the beautiful little courtyard of the guesthouse or under a bungalow down on the beach.

Here are some images from this amazing place.

The spectacular view from the Burundi/Tanzania border

Some of the road we took to get there- thank goodness for 4-wheel drive!

The beach where we spent a good part of every day.

Tambry and I laughed when we got home and looked at all the pictures we had taken. Both of our cameras were mostly filled with Zac and Maddy! Here are two of my youngest friends in Africa. Aren't they precious? We all think so.

I am blessed again and again by the wonderful friends God has given me here. And I'm so grateful for times like these where we can enjoy rich fellowship, edifying conversation, and LOTS of laughter. You should have seen just how comfortable we all felt around each other... sometimes a little TOO comfortable! Hopefully there will be many more opportunities like this one to bask in the pleasure of healthy God-ordained friendships.

I've said before and I'll say it again: Cuteness should be preserved.

It's too bad people don't think the same about the roads. ;-)

It's awsome to hear about what is going on in your section of the world. Thank you for sharing.
