May

I hate playing catch up but I realize this blog is in desperate need of some up-to-date pictures and info. So here we go...

In May we had a great time with a team from Frontline which is a "church within a church" (the bigger church being McLean Bible Church) in the Washington DC area. They led evangelism and leadership seminars for and built relationships with local university students in Bujumbura; taught the youth of Nyanza Lac biblical principles and challenged the local team to an exciting football match which the whole community came out to watch; and got their hands (and heads!) dirty slinging mud, moving bricks, and hauling big rocks to help in the construction of a new building for a church in Bubanza. They not only enthusiastically participated in these various ministries but also learned a lot about World Relief and Burundi in the process. In spite of a nasty stomach virus that hit several of the teammates throughout their stay they persevered and really were such an encouragement to me, to other WR staff, and to so many more.
