Safari

In the midst of all the busy this summer I jumped at the offer to join Seth, Trina, and Trina's parents for a safari in Kenya. I'm still so thankful that they invited me to tag along (did I tell you guys that already? Thanks Chases and Newcombs!) and was overwhelmed by the beauty we encountered along the way. Because of such slow connection speeds here in Bujumbura I am not going to upload many pictures of the animals we saw. Thankfully, Trina has already done so on her blog and, being the professional photographer that she is, her pictures are exceedingly better than any I could ever hope to take. So I'll just save you all the suspense and direct you to her post that is complete with amazing photos. Click here to enjoy.
One of the things we chose to do in Nairobi before we flew back to Buja was visit the Giraffe Centre. I must say it was certainly a highlight for me. It's not everyday you get a kiss from a giraffe...

Trina's was a little sloppier!

Oh my goodness!! Too funny! :^D

I've seen giraffes up close at our zoo but never this up close. I don't think I realized how large their heads are! LOL
