in the meantime

I'm ashamed to look and see that my last post was from almost two months ago! Thanks to all of you patient and faithful friends and family who have continued to pray for me during this busy time. Your prayers have been felt! I hope to write more soon and get back in the habit of updating this blog more regularly but in the meantime I wanted to post some pictures to 'tide you over'. In the past month or so it's been a blessing for me to be able to help host a couple of teams who came from two of WR's partner churches in America.

The first came from EvFree Fullerton in California to put a roof on a church...

before:

a work in progress:

and after (with very thankful worshipers!):

...and to work with the local Sunday School teachers in VBS activities.

The second team came from my home church Good Shepherd and as an added bonus for me they were led by my dear cousin, Shelly and her husband. How good to be together with loved ones and be able to show them around my world.

Here's the team at the (southern-most) source of the Nile which IS in Burundi despite what the experts might say!

Their team also had two objectives. They also worked together with the local churches to do VBS with their Sunday School children...

...and learned about and participated in a project dealing with the distribution of milk goats for families with children who are suffering from malnutrition.

Here is Dolla (WR rehabilitation program manager) who lives and breathes GOATS, explaining how to determine the age of this particular breed:

Karina taught some basic principles of biblical stewardship to the recipients:

The distribution:

So there are some highlights from the past month. Again, thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. Here's a parting shot of me with one of my newest friends.
