Sophonie

Sophonie Ngendakuriyo joined World Relief Burundi officially on May 2nd and I'm pretty sure my life will never be the same because of it.

He is the manager of our new department of Church Mobilization and Development.  Sophonie and his family have many years of experience working with the church in Burundi- from running Transworld Radio to overseeing the largest protestant church in Burundi- the Pentecostal Church.  We are truly thrilled to have such a leader join us here at WR.

He and I work together closely in preparing for the teams that come from our partner churches in the US.  We had a wonderful time last month with the first team of the summer.  They came from McLean Bible Church in Virginia and were a huge blessing not only to us at WR but to many Burundians who got to see Christ's love displayed through their words and deeds.  We have several more teams to look forward to including one from Good Shepherd in July!  It will be great to see some familiar faces from home and I can't wait to introduce as many people as possible to Sophonie.  I'm sure you'll love him too!

I mean look at this guy.  What's not to love?...
